12 Love Songs from Latin Artists to Dedicate to Your Significant Other Based on Their Venus Sign

Popular mainstream astrology tends to use one’s sun sign to make predictions about their life, including love, but there are placements of planets and houses in one’s birth chart that help astrologists make more accurate predictions. According to astrology, Venus is the planet of attraction, love, beauty and relationships, so using one’s Venus sign can indicate how these themes appear in someone’s life. You can find out more about your planetary placements on astro-seek.com by inputting your birthday, birthtime, and location. I will preface that I am not a licensed astrologist, and my pairing of songs are based on my relative knowledge in astrology and in my opinion, this is for funsies!
Once you have figured out yours and your significant other’s Venus sign, here are some of my song recommendations from Latin artists to serenade them with!
1. Aries Venus – “Eso y Más” by Joan Sebastian
Joan Sebastian’s country-inspired sounds make great romantic songs about overcoming anything for the happiness and safety of your lover. This includes any obstacles–whether that be in the form of a person, social disapproval, moving mountains or slaying dragons in the name of love. Dedication and drive are very Aries-coded traits, and to be desired by an Aries is the embodiment of a perfect fairytale. It’s a poetic way to express your love because they deserve “eso y más”. Taurus
2. Venus – “Na Na Na Mi (Dulce Niña)” by Kumbia Kings
Selena Quintanilla’s brother, Abraham Quintinilla III, really ate with this song about a beautiful, sweet girl in this cute upbeat poppy-cumbia soundtrack. Such a happy, optimistic tune, very representative of Taurus’ ruling of the senses. Venus rules over Taurus, so this placement is at home, and therefore, only the overwhelming charm and beauty of this sign can make someone feel so decisive about earning their love. This song and a box of chocolates will definitely make a Taurus Venus’ day.
3. Gemini Venus – “Perfecta” by Miranda! (ft. Julieta Venegas)
Ah, the friendly Gemini– a song that captures the emotional roller coaster from feeling nervous to ecstasy is so representative of your mutable mood shifts. This song is about two friends who kiss while drunk and discover they have feelings for each other. Knowing you, a good friends-to-lovers trope is symbolic of Gemini’s value of taking things slowly with potential partners by first testing if you’re compatible as friends.
4. Cancer Venus – “Moonlight” by Kali Uchis
Cancer is ruled by the moon; therefore, an instinctive connection exists between these two entities. So what better way to celebrate your love than by getting “high with your lover” and transcending under the moonlight of your ruling planet? Deepening and intensifying your connection with them as well.
5. Leo Venus – “Te quiero” by Flex (ft. Belinda) Spanglish version
This “Romantic style” y2k pop-reggaeton hit is a very loud and over-the-top proclamation of love just like you, Leo! No need to feel ashamed about it, though; we love that about you, Leo Venus. A song about being so insanely infatuated with your significant other that it “makes you feel weak” yet so complete. The lyrics of this song appeal to the dramatic love language of Leo Venus, which is essential to your unique sense of self.
6. Virgo Venus – “Quiéreme” by Los Bukis
A Virgo Venus is extremely dedicated to satisfying and pleasing their partner, and the only thing you ask is that your potential love interest expresses a similar goal to become their best version of themselves for you. This classic Bukis song entails Marco Antonio Solis asking to be loved in the same way he has loved this person. Themes of reciprocation and a sudden, unexpected falling truly shows Virgo Venus’ tendencies to be caught by surprise by their own romantic emotions.
7. Libra Venus – “Ebrio de Amor” by Valentín Elizalde
Getting some banda representation here! This song is about being immensely in love. As a sibling sign of Taurus, Libras are also ruled by Venus. Thus, Venus enjoys being placed here in the sign of Libra! Y’all love to love, and this song’s metaphor combines all of those feelings of butterflies in one’s stomach, passion, nerves, and ecstasy, being concentrated into an embryo that is constantly growing.
8. Scorpio Venus – “Rules” by Shakira
This list would not be complete without a song from Shakira! “Rules” is one of the best rock songs from her first crossover album to the U.S. market, Laundry Service. Here, Shakira lays out the terms and conditions of how her significant other is strictly hers and only hers. One thing about Scorpio Venus when it comes to their partner is that they like someone healthily obsessed over them. A healthy level of possessiveness is how they are assured that you romantically belong to them and shows them that you can be trusted with their fragile heart.
9. Sagittarius Venus – “Eres Mi Religion” by Maná
First off, congratulations if you managed to get the freedom-loving Sagittarius to commit. This song is about the healing effect love can provide a person, which can save and become one’s truth in a world full of uncertainty. As you become a part of their journey to discover their truth, they can count on you being a part of their journey through life.
10. Capricorn Venus – “Aliado del Tiempo” by Mariano Barba
This song’s blend of country and regional Mexican sounds makes you feel like you’re in a romantic telenovela running through a maize field in the midwest. Barba’s charming voice narrates making love to his partner through respecting and asking them for consent. Notice how he is very considerate about his partner’s consent, very MINDFUL, very CUTESY, very CHIVALROUS (CONSENT IS HOT). Capricorn Venus tends to enjoy a more traditional approach to love, and would prefer to take things slowly, as they are no strangers embarking on long processes as their ruling planet, Saturn, dictates restrictions and limitations. They are firm believers in the process of courtship, so when evaluating potential partners their dedication as well as effort is definitely taken into consideration. This song will have you imagining what it would be like to have a small romantic life on a farm with your partner.
11. Aquarius Venus – “Corazón sin Cara” by Prince Royce
One of the most unconventional of the zodiac, Aquiarius are always going to surprise us with their tastes, but they do not care about superficial stuff; they care to have a humanitarian, intellectual and charismatic person as their partner. This cute song literally translates to a “Heart without a face,” allowing all of us to feel confident in our skin. That is the kind of love that Aquiarius Venus exhibits– a love for authenticity and uniqueness rather than conformity.
12. Pisces Venus – “Él (Banda)” by Jenni Rivera
This song also has a pop version from the very talented Diva de la Banda Jenni Rivera if that is more your taste, but in my opinion, the banda version is better. This song is straight up from a telenovela, Eva Luna. I remember seeing this intro coming back from school and watching this telenovela before dinner. The song talks about randomly being starstruck and smitten by the man (or person) of your dreams. A very cliché, cursi, representative of the exalted Pisces placements that enjoys a dreamy, fairytale type of love just like Libra Venus. Receiving and giving love in all its exaggerated glory and gestures is the kind of love that Pisces Venus enjoys most.
Now that each sign has their associated song from a Latine artist, I hope everyone can enjoy and resonate with the song selected for their Venus sign or partner’s corresponding Venus sign! Love is still in the air, embrace it. As Walter Mercado once said, <<y con mucho, mucho, amor>>
~¡Ciao!
